Tummy Tuck Solutions

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is a popular plastic surgery procedure done by men and women. It removes stretched, saggy skin from the abdomen and tightens the abdominal muscles. Liposuction may be combined to remove excess fatty tissue and tone up the tummy muscles.

Why Do Tummy Tuck?

A tummy tuck is primarily done to tighten or remove stretched skin from the tummy. Liposuction removes the fatty cells from the abdomen before the tuck is done. Liposuction does not remove all the fat cells in the abdomen, however, and the remaining cells can grow if the patient does not maintain good health and keep within the BMI weight.

Losing too much weight, however, will cause you to produce loose skin again. In addition, if you get pregnant, your abdominal muscles will stretch, and you’ll require another tummy tuck! After your pregnancy, your surgeon can redo the procedure when you regain your normal weight.

The Age Factor

Skin quality is affected by age and lessens muscle tone, causing you to lose firmness over time. A tummy tuck removed the unwanted excess skin for a contoured and sculptured abdomen.

Length of Surgery

A tummy tuck surgical procedure will take approximately two hours under general anesthesia. The patient generally stays overnight in the hospital or medical center.

Procedure

A tummy tuck can be done in a hospital, an accredited medical institution, or a licensed ambulatory. Your doctor will do an extensive medical evaluation to ascertain your health status, and your current medication intake will be adjusted, at least for the day. There must be no herbal supplements or in take of aspirin, as this anti coagulate and induce bleeding. And no
smoking!

A stable weight leading up to the surgery is expected as the surgery will not help you lose weight. Your surgeon will advise you to be in the range of ten to fifteen pounds of your ideal weight.

Men Tummy Tuck

Women primarily do the tummy tuck surgery, but men also do the surgery to remove the belly fat and loose skin that exercise and healthy eating cannot help.

The Recovery

After the surgery, the surgeon will use dissolving sutures to stitch your incisions, and you will be asked to wear a surgical garment for six weeks throughout the recovery. Your surgeon may administer manual lymphatic drainage.

The first week after surgery will be uncomfortable. Your doctor will prescribe strong medication to alleviate your pain and discomfort.
